Graduate Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
The Graduate Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) can be completed using both online and campus-based courses. Both types of coursework are available in the M.Ed. program. The online program is designed to meet the needs for those licensed professionals seeking an advanced degree in Special Education with an emphasis in ASD.
Much of the coursework is delivered through the Internet, allowing you the opportunity to pursue your educational goals at a time and place that fits your schedule. This is not a licensure program since no license exits in Arkansas for teachers preparing to teach students with ASD. However, a certificate is given to those successfully completing the program acknowledging their professional achievement.
Nationally recognized faculty provides the instruction for the program. The Special Education program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and received national recognition from the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), the organization that accredits teacher education programs in Special Education.
The program is offered by the College of Education and Health Professions and is administered by the Global Campus.
